igo bus services
igo is the brand for our subsidised local bus services that operate across the West Midlands and Worcestershire.
We first started operating our subsidised bus services in 2011 with 6 vehicles operating on 3 routes. We now operate 87 vehicles on 60 tendered bus routes on behalf of Centro (the West Midlands Transport Authority), Warwickshire County Council and Worcestershire County Council.
Part of our routes are demand responsive that operate in Warwickshire. These services operate to a set route but can deviate to pick up passengers in response to any requests that are made to a dedicated booking line.
We have successfully grown over the years and now carry around 152,000 passengers a month. Turnover has increased from £300,000 in 2011 to £4.5m in 2015.
igo have also successfully grown patronage on routes that we have gained. An example is the 39 service we operate to and from Bournville College. When we started operating the route three years ago we carried a total of 360 passengers a day - we now carry a total of 640 passengers a day, increasing the patronage level by 78%.
We actively promote the tendered bus services via joint initiatives and campaigns with local authorities and incorporating places of interest along the routes.
As well as subsidised bus services, igo also provides a private hire service for schools and colleges in the West Midlands as well as shuttle services to the Black Country Living Museum and rail replacement services on behalf of London Midland.
